What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with some of the most typical air conditioning problems in Fort Lauderdale.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your A/C equipment operating but there isn’t cool air blowing, you might need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your air conditioning system is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and examine your refrigerant levels and look into why your system is not producing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

The reason your condenser fan isn’t rotating could be that it merely burned out and you have to replace it. Humidity could cause more condensation so a second problem to watch for is that the water is not draining properly or that the drain is obstructed. If you can check these things, you may be able to find the culprit; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and review your options to get your system up and running again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds silly but sometimes we neglect the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause major cooling problems. Another problem that could cause your ineffective cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off constantly, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be back in business. Note that humidity also plays a piece so if your home cools to the correct temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the equipment is having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your trouble, whatever air conditioning trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get your family comfortable quickly.
