What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a few of the most typical air conditioning problems in Fort Lauderdale.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your A/C equipment running but there isn’t cool air blowing, you may need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your system is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and review your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not producing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

The reason your condenser fan isn’t rotating could be that it merely burned out and you have to replace it. Humidity could cause more condensation so a second issue to watch for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is obstructed. If you can check these things, you may be able to discover the culprit; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can find out what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It seems simple but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause major cooling problems. Another issue that could cause your ineffective cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your system is short cycling, or turning on or off constantly, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be good to go. Note that humidity also plays a piece so if your home cools to the desired temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the equipment is having to work harder to keep your home comfortable.

No matter your trouble, whatever AC trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get you comfortable quickly.
