What causes indoor air pollution?

Many daily products may create poor indoor air quality in your Fort Lauderdale residence.

This includes:

  • Substances in [carpet, furniture and drapes that let off fumes
  • Cleaning sprays
  • Paint
  • Personal care products
  • Air fresheners and candles

Though they are typically more efficient, modern homes don’t ventilate the way older houses do. Tight weather stripping and storm doors keep interior air in and outside air out. This gives higher energy savings, but the lowered exchange of outdoor and indoor air can create pollutants building up indoors.

When this occurs, a whole-house ventilation system is suggested. Ventilation systems swap out dirty inside air for more breathable exterior air without sacrificing energy savings.
